Exactly 26 years ago, in the first semester of my studies, when I was of the age of my current students I was a hacker rebel fighting a war against the internet and developed some of the first viruses that spread over the WWW. I fought the war, but Internet won. That got the crazy younger me from the middle of nowhere to New York Times. 

At that time, I was convinced that authoritarian regimes, would use the internet to exploit peoples freedom, luckily I was mostly wrong and the internet in the majority of cases enables people to learn and do more! Until of course AI takes over and I’ll have to convince my son to write a virus to defeat it. In the meantime, I am „chilling“ as my students like to say….
